Now that I have your attention ...

I went to this Leadership conference yesterday, and it was epic (and no, not just because I got out of class for four hours, although that was a plus). Basically, we talked about making the world better and how one person can make a difference and just a few problems with the world today -- you know, that cliche stuff. But let me tell you something right now: if you seriously sit there and don't give a damn about the problems around the world, if you seriously think, "Oh, I have nothing to do with it, so why should I bother?" then please get a life. I'm not even joking. Get a life.

I would have told you that before I went to this "conference" thingy, so don't be all, "OMG THEY BRAINWASHED SAM!" :D

So, let's see ... I got information on human trafficking, volunteering with the animal shelter, "To Write Love on Her Arms" (which started with one story ... they have a website, twloha.com, and they also have a MySpace page, myspace.com/towriteloveonherarms. I'm too lazy to go back and make sure those are in fact the right links, so if those don't work, just look around the Internet and I'm sure you'll find it), and stuff like that. Plus, Miss America spoke there, but I didn't get an autograph like everyone else -- no way was I standing in that line.

Anyway, just thought I'd write something, since I haven't in forever. xD Mom needs to get up so I can go get my permit ...
So earlier today, ScyFy was airing the first two Saw movies. I have to say... I think I have a new obsession. =]

Actually, the second one ended just before I got on the computer. If they don't come on TV soon, I'll have to look them up online... They're gruesome and gory, yet inspirational at the same time. xD So yeah. Randomness. Enjoy!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, if you've heard of that? o_o And I've also seen the Ouran High School Host Club anime, but I've not yet read the manga. :( Anyway, come up with a fandom and I'll either say yes or no, and also give me a prompt/pairing/whatever. :P

... Wow, fifteen weeks? I amaze even myself!

For those of you who care, I suppose I'm back? Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't posted anything new, though I have been going through a bit of writer's block... for a little over a year. I've made little progress in my book, in my creative writing skills, and yet I still manage to pass school with a positive attitude -- barely so, but positive nonetheless. Social Studies is a real drag, lately; English is - as it will be for another month - taken over by Satan; algebra has gotten boring yet again; PE got dull pretty fast; Yearbook has turned out to be pretty bad, almost like it was last year; Drama got pretty boring, and (joy), we're doing the Wizard of Oz, despite how terrible of actors/actresses we've got and how unprepared we are (we're scheduled to perform May 2nd, I think); and science could be better, but overall, I think that's my best subject right now.

Ah, yes, and the drama. I'm merely a middle-schooler, but boy do we have plenty of drama at school. I won't get into it, though -- I've already bored you by now, I'm sure.

Please, I'd like to meet new people (no, that's not code for "show me a picture of you, gimme your address, let's meet up sometime"), because I really am bored with life.

Not-so-Sincerely,
Sammius

It's been a while since I've been on Live Journal; I used to love it, until it made my computer slow. Though, I guess it's safe to say that I'm here to stay now. For those of you who don't know me, please forget what I just said. It's useless information. If you dislike rambling and reading introductions, perhaps you should exit this entry now, because that's all it is: a rambling introductory.

Hello, everyone. I go by Sammius; it's rather... unique, something I can really stick to. I'm using it as my alias, now and forever. I know it's what I'm using when I publish my book (far-fetched, right?), so it's something I should definitely get used to... even though I've already had two years to do that. I won't even begin to explain the plot; one of my absolute worst qualities is shyness, and my other quality being modesty, when it comes to my writing. Plus, it's too difficult to explain; if at all you care. It's sad, isn't it? I expect myself to publish a book by the end of this upcoming year, and I have both modest and shy features? Same goes for poetry, though I've only written one poem in my life that I've actually kept. I'm not very good when it comes to sticking with ideas, which is why I'm so confident about the book I'm writing now.

So, I love writing. Check.

Reading. I think I can make this clear: I love to read. Harry Potter, Twilight, Chronicles of Narnia, Inkheart. Fantasy is what I live for. Especially magic, and vampires, and stuff like that. One of my other hobbies is critiquing what I read, as in, deciding whether it was good or bad, or if at all it had reason to be created. If I don't get bored and throw the piece of literature down, I'll read it through, awe at its wonder, talk about it with someone (or ramble, in hopes that they don't care about spoliers), and then point out its every flaws.

I also like correcting things for people, as in, spelling errors, grammatical errors, et cetera. It really makes me feel useful to point out other people's flaws, and it makes me feel better when they confide in me with their writing.

Reading. Check.

Now comes the part that some people might not expect. Pyschology is a passion of mine. I'm not going to pretend that I know what someone else is thinking, but that's just it. I can't stand to know that a friend of mine is angry, depressed, or something that worries me. I pester people to tell me what's wrong, and it makes me feel that much better when I know what's wrong with someone. Besides getting the awesome feeling of being a good listener, I love to help them, too. Sure, I'm not the best person for the job, but at least they let me help them.

Pyschology. Check.

Arguing. Lawyer. Do the math. Arguing is my passion, so I really want to be a lawyer when I grow up, and get my degrees in pyschology and - above all else - English.

Arguing. Check.

Philosophy? Comes with writing and pyschology. I love critiquing the world. Sure, it gets stressfull and frustrating, but when I'm done pointing out ever flaw that the world holds to myself... well, it takes me a while, but it sure is fun.

Philosophy. Check.

Anyway, before I dull you to a long sleep, I suppose I should end. I hope this wasn't too weak for a first post, and thank you to those of you who have actually read this far.

Appreciation, sincerely,
Sammius
